The Human Communication Studies program of Northwestern University offers students an opportunity to go on to medical school or to graduate programs in audiology, speech pathology, learning disabilities, neuroscience, dentistry, or biomedical engineering. Others begin work immediately in research laboratories or for health-related businesses.
You may choose to pursue a general education in communication sciences and disorders, or to concentrate your coursework in one or more specific areas that match your interests and career goals: audiology and hearing science, speech and language pathology, and learning disabilities. Opportunities are available for students to conduct research alongside renowned faculty investigators, and to observe clinical sessions in the new Center for Audiology, Speech, Language, and Learning.
