Overview

Self-directed? Ambitious? A lover of Hispanic books, films, and cultures? If you want to blaze your own path to fluency in Spanish language and culture, the Spanish area studies major at Fordham might be right for you.

You’ll study a broad range of topics, including art history, anthropology, political science, and visual arts.

In the process, you’ll become fluent in Spanish, refine your analytical skills, and acquire a critical understanding of Hispanic literary and cultural tradition over the centuries.

You’ll learn more than Spanish studies here. You’ll also study philosophy, theology, economics, mathematics, ethics, science, and the performing arts through Fordham’s common core curriculum, the centerpiece of our liberal arts education.

Transcripts, mark sheets or certificates from all secondary schools or high schools attended (Fordham requires transcripts for the last four years of pre-university education)
