Our courses therefore stress the importance of French as a vibrant language with a strong global presence, as they examine the rich variety and ongoing international influence of French and Francophone traditions and civilizations from the Middle Ages to the present, from Europe to the Caribbean (and beyond).

Overview

The B. A. in French is designed to allow students to readily combine the study of French with the study of other disciplines, including (but not limited to) history, sociology, political science, business, philosophy, the arts, and film.We invite interested students to explore the possibilities for both undergraduate and graduate studies, and to contact us for further information. If you wish to study the language, literature, and culture of France and francophone regions of the world, we have a course that is right for you.

    The TOEFL®PBT is administered in a paper format and measures your ability to use and understand English in a classroom setting at the college or university level. It accurately measures how well you can listen, read and write in English while performing academic tasks.

    • Step 2: Submit Required Academic CredentialsThe academic credentials required will vary based upon your entry level.
    • Step 3: SAT or ACT Scores SAT and ACT test scores are required for all freshman applicants as well as for all students with less than 60 credits from an accredited post-secondary institution. The ACT Residual test is offered at FAU’s Testing Center. 
    • Step 4: Submit English Proficiency TestsStudents whose first language is not English must submit TOEFL scores.
