The Piano Pedagogy major in the Bachelor of Music degree at Baylor University develops the student's skill in both playing and teaching piano. The program offers a comprehensive degree program with many opportunities for valuable teaching experiences. Classes prepare future teachers to work with all levels and ages of students in both group and private settings.  

About

All students desiring to pursue a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, or Bachelor of Arts in Music degree must audition.  Music faculty review auditions for acceptance into each music degree program.

Through courses and internships, students take part in the teaching of the Piano Laboratory Program.  This Piano Pedagogy program at Baylor University helps elementary-age students from the community receive their first piano lessons. Graduating students have chosen diverse career paths such as operating independent studios and teaching in large music schools, elementary schools and at the college level.

The Bachelor of Music Education degree requires ensemble participation each semester. The Music School offers a variety of ensemble opportunities including Band, Choir, Early Music Ensemble, Handbells, Jazz, Opera Theater, Orchestra and Chamber Music. The School of Music presents more than 300 concerts every year.
