The costs for medical care abroad within the EU are offset by the respective national health care institutions. Grant holders have to pay for all their travel costs.

Eligibility

  • Students of public, state and private Higher education institutions who have completed at least one semester of their studies at the 2nd stage by the submission deadline are eligible to apply for these scholarships (if the applicant’s degree programme combines both stages in one programme – § 53 para. 3 of the Slovakian higher education act – applicants must have completed at least 7 semesters).
  • Eligible are currently enrolled scholars (minimum of 5 ECTS in the last term) or scholars who are presently involved in research activities at their university.
  • The objective of the grant for diploma candidates is to offer students the opportunity to use sources in Austria, too, for the preparation of their degree/master/diploma thesis and thus to improve the quality of their thesis. The stay in Austria must be clearly related to the topic of the degree/master/diploma thesis and be planned accordingly.
  • Austrian citizens who have a permanent residence in Austria and who study at a Slovak institution can receive a scholarship from the Action for a stay in Austria only if there are at least 100km (linear distance) between the place of their host institution and the place of their permanent residence.
