The Applied Animal Management programme from Lincoln College is designed to reflect ongoing developments within the animal industry including the use of working animals within society, the need to protect and enhance the habitats and populations of animal species as well as the importance of enhancing animal health and welfare through the use of evidence-driven practice provided by the work of a broad range of animal manual therapists.
Key facts
The course is based around four main themes:
- Animal husbandry: health, disease, nutrition, behaviour, breeding, habitat and the enhancement of welfare
- Animal training: learning theories and training programmes designed for health reasons, scent detection, support therapy and entertainment
- Animal preservation: disease prevention and control, rescue and rehabilitation, and breeding for the conservation of species
- Animal physical therapies: principles & methodologies, health and well-being benefits and the use of evidence-based treatment

A minimum of 64 UCAS Tariff points from:
- GCE A and AS Levels in relevant subjects
- BTEC National or City and Guilds Technical (Diploma or Extended Diploma) in a relevant subject
- Access to HE Diploma
- T Levels
- Scottish Higher/Advanced Higher with at least one subject at Advanced Higher
- GCSE English – Grade C/4 or above
- GCSE Science Related Subject – Grade C/4 or above
- For mature applicants, some experience may be taken in lieu of A Levels/BTECs
- ENIC confirmed equivalent of 64 UCAS points
- IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Equivalent English language qualifications may be acceptable for applicants requiring a Student Study Visa.
