Description

The Student Carers Bursary is available to Home students in their first year at Cardiff Metropolitan University who meet the Carers Trust definition of a student carer.

Alongside financial support, recipients receive a dedicated staff mentor, access to money and welfare advice, and additional wellbeing and disability support services. The bursary is not available to students studying at franchised colleges or partner institutions.

Eligibility

  • Must be enrolled at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
  • Must have Home fee status.
  • Must be in the first year of study.
  • Must meet the Carers Trust definition of a student carer (providing unpaid care for a friend or family member due to illness, disability, mental health issues, or addiction).
  • Must provide confirmation from a professional (e.g. GP, social worker) verifying the caring role.
  • Students at franchised colleges or partner institutions are not eligible.
