Description
The Vice-Chancellor Postgraduate Research Scholarship is Bangor University's flagship scholarship for international and EU applicants undertaking a PhD, MPhil, or Master's by Research programme. The scholarship is awarded competitively to applicants with an outstanding academic record and strong research potential. It is available to self-funded or partially funded students beginning an eligible postgraduate research programme.
Benefits
The scholarship provides a 50% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the postgraduate research programme, subject to satisfactory academic progress.
Eligibility
- Must be an international or EU applicant.
- Must hold, or be expected to achieve, the equivalent of a UK First Class Honours degree and/or a Master's degree with Distinction.
- Must hold an offer of admission for an eligible PhD, MPhil, or Master's by Research programme at Bangor University.
- Must be a self-funded or partially funded student.
- Applicants fully sponsored by a third party are not eligible.
- Must pay the international tuition fee rate.
- Both full-time and part-time applicants are eligible.

Applicants must first obtain an offer for an eligible postgraduate research programme at Bangor University. They must then complete the Vice-Chancellor Scholarship application form and obtain a supporting statement from an academic member of staff at the relevant Academic School before the published deadline.
