Overview
Join a close-knit community which shares your passion for literature and language. Staff have published on topics such as gender and devotion, materiality and book history, social networks and infrastructure.
Your teaching is informed by the internationally recognised research into language and cognition, while literature specialisms cover the Middle Ages and Renaissance period to Victorian and Modernist forms.
Careers
Many of the graduates of the English Language and English Literature (With Foundation Year) (Hons) option from Bangor University go on to creative careers where they can put their language skills to good use. These include journalism, writing, advertising, marketing, public relations, filmmaking, and publishing.
Other graduates choose more specialist roles, some of which require additional training, using their technical language skills for translation, interpreting, speech therapy, speech and language technology and community work, particularly where it relates to language policy and engagement.
