Overview

In this Modern Languages and English Literature (Hons) course from Bangor University  you can study writers from all over the world, focus on the Classics or genres like Gothic, children’s fiction, or dystopian literature. Or you can adopt a thematic approach to study, such as monstrosity in Medieval Literature or globalisation in the 19th century.

The compulsory year abroad is fantastic preparation for today’s multilingual, multicultural world of work. You can add a second year abroad via the ‘International Experience’ option. Using your language skills in real-life situations not only increases your proficiency, but also boosts your confidence, independence and resilience.

Enjoying a reputation for world-class literary research, our faculty includes some of the world’s foremost authorities on Arthurian Literature, early modern literature, the history of the book, and Welsh writing in English.
