Law and Criminology are deeply connected, with the criminal justice system linking the creation and application of law to the people it affects - offenders, victims, and the professionals who work with them.

You will graduate this Law with Criminology (Hons) programme offered at the Bangor University with a Law degree which meets the academic requirements for qualification as a barrister (Bar Standards Board compliant), but also provides essential knowledge for students aspiring to be solicitors. Amongst an attractive array of modules, you can choose vocational subjects tested in the Solicitors’ Qualifying Examinations (SQE) - such as Business Law, Wills and Estates, and Property Practice - providing you with a gateway to professional training to become a solicitor.

In addition to the many roles within the criminal justice system, the varied skillset you develop as both a lawyer and criminologist can lead you to a range of careers which require an aptitude for critical analysis, research, drafting and presenting your arguments.

While our degrees meet the Bar Standards Board's requirements for barristers and provide essential knowledge for qualification as solicitors, introducing students to material tested on the Solicitor’s Qualifying Exam (SQE), they also open doors to a wide range of other career paths.
