The goal of the psychological counseling services is to provide for the welfare of the students concerning academic and psychological issues. These services allow interested students to consult with a professional regarding psychological difficulties, apprehensions, and distress in their personal and/or academic lives, such as situations of conflict or a crisis, social difficulties, problems concentrating, anxieties before or during exams.

The library is an active and developing unit and an integral part of the fabric of lessons and research at IDC Herzliya. The library building has been enlarged this year, and now covers over 3000 sq m. The library is computerized and has been designed to suit the needs of a leading academic institution, serving the entire student body and academic faculty of the IDC.
The computer and communications facilities at IDC include more than 400 computers which are linked to the campus network and the Internet, as well as a campus-wide video conference network. IDC Center has a local communications network (fast Ethernet), based on fiber optics, which has a 100 megabyte per second broadband capacity.
We have made special arrangements to insure international students who are not covered by Israel’s compulsory health insurance legislation. The insurance plan with Harel Yedidim (see next page) provides comprehensive health coverage for an annual $790 U.S. membership fee, which will be charged at the beginning of the year.
As an educational institution which emphasizes the values of freedom of action and taking responsibility for the community as well as initiative and excellence, IDC Herzliya encourages students to be active in a wide range of areas in addition to their studies, and offers a variety of community service projects for student participation. It is our belief that promoting assistance to others and personal involvement in the community will lead our students to make community service and contributing to society part of their lives in the future.
IDC espouses the idea of “a healthy mind in a healthy body” and gives its students the opportunity to participate in various sports activities. The sports teams of IDC compete both at the amateur level as well as the professional one and take part in numerous competitions including the Academic Sports Association (ASA).
The IDC Student Union is an apolitical organization that works and operates for the protection and representation of all students on campus. It focuses on academic support, welfare aid, social events and community involvement. Students from each class are elected to the Union and the International School is represented by a new committee geared to cater to the special requirements of international students. In addition to organizing the traditional Eilat trip, the Poland trip and Student Day, the Student Union also encourages social awareness and contribution to the community both locally and nationally.
