History
- The campus of the private university in Dortmund was founded in 1990 and, with around 930 students, is the largest of the ISM’s locations.
It is located in the middle of the technology park only 15 minutes from the city center.
Six other smaller campuses are located in the heart of the following cities: Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne, Hamburg and Stuttgart.

Education
- The Bachelor's program is distinguished by its strong international orientation (1-2 semesters abroad, teaching of foreign languages) and the mix of basic business knowledge and course- or module specific content.
- All courses contain up to two foreign languages, integrated internships and teaching and practicing of soft skills. Small learning groups and a personal atmosphere are typical for studying at ISM.
- The Master's program combines in-depth business knowledge with course-specific content as well as the latest topics and trends in the different branches.

Research
Besides its teaching activities, ISM conducts research and development projects in various academic areas.

Student services
- The International Office helps ISM students to arrange their stay abroad and looks after them while they are away.
- The student office team assists students in finding the most appropriate partner university and they are always there to help students who are currently studying abroad.
Housing services
The ISM does not offer student accommodation on campus, however the international office can help students with a list of resources aimed at helping them find and rent an apartment swiftly in Germany.
Library services
- Students looking for a quiet working environment can use the library's reading room and study areas.
- The Dortmund Campus also offers a magazine reading room and a group study area. Each library is stocked with a wide range of business literature as well as the latest study and research findings.

Cologne Campus
The campus of our ISM private university in Dortmund, with around 900 students, is located in the middle of the Technology Park area, only 15 minutes from the city center. In recent decade, Dortmund has developed from the former coal and steel city to a modern technology location. As the largest city in Westphalia and the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region, Dortmund is one of the most dynamic new economic cities in Germany.
Study in Frankfurt between Skyscrapers and Old TownThe campus of our international university in Frankfurt/Main was established in 2007 and is located in the district of Sachsenhausen, directly at the South Railway Station and only two underground stations away from the city center. Around 900 students are currently enrolled at the ISM private university in Frankfurt.
Frankfurt is the city with the highest density of jobs in Germany and a major European financial and service hub. Frankfurt am Main also has other important sectors such as IT and telecommunications, biotechnology and life sciences or logistics and supply chain industry, so it’s a vibrant city boosting with internship and job opportunities.
Study in Munich, the German Economic MetropolisThe Munich campus is just a few minutes walk from Königsplatz in the center of Munich and thus easily accessible from the main train station. The students there particularly appreciate the contrasts that make the Bavarian capital so special - cosmopolitan young people and traditions, big-city atmosphere and rural charm. The most important economic sectors in Munich are vehicle and mechanical engineering, tourism, electrical engineering as well as the IT industry. In addition, the Bavarian capital city is an important German media location.
Study at the private university Hamburg in the Harbor CityISM is one of the most well-known business schools in Hamburg. The University offers management and IT-related degrees and is internationally AACSB-accredited. Around 560 students study at the ISM private university Hamburg in two modern buildings located in Hafen City. The city center and the main train station are only about ten minutes away from our campus Hamburg. Whether as a cosmopolitan metropolis or a raw, but charming Hanseatic city - Hamburg has many facets. The city's economic structure is landscaped by the services sectors, which employ around three quarters of all workers.
Study in Cologne, the City of the CathedralAround 350 students are studying at the campus of the ISM Cologne University of Applied Sciences in the MediaPark, just a few minutes' walk from the Hansaring S-Bahn station. The Rhine metropolis is one of the most important business locations in Germany and impresses with its convenient location and a mix of different top industries. The region enjoys a long tradition as a center of trade and industry. In recent decades, the Cologne region has also been able to expand its position as a service and logistics center. Cologne is also well-known for being an innovative media city.
Study at the ISM Business School StuttgartSince 2016, ISM has also had a base in the economic metropolis of Stuttgart. The campus of the private University of Stuttgart with currently around 220 students is located within walking distance of the city center in the Heusteig quarter. Located in the heart of Europe, Stuttgart is the center of one of the strongest economic regions and most innovative high-tech locations in Europe. The city offers excellent economic perspectives - for example, as the most export-rich metropolitan region in Germany.
Study in the Capital City BerlinOn September 2019 the ISM established a campus in Berlin, the currently newest campus. The university is located in the heart of Berlin Schöneberg and combines culture, cosmopolitanism and innovation. As the capital of Germany, Berlin is an important international business metropolis and political center. Therefore, the city is an attractive location for companies from all sectors.
Accreditation
ISM International School of Management is currently the only private university of applied sciences in Germany that has been awarded the prestigious AACSB international accreditation, unlimited state recognition by the German Ministry of Innovation, Higher Education and Research of North Rhine-Westphalia. Therefore, the study degrees awarded through ISM are equivalent to study degrees of public universities.
