Loughborough University's history dates back to 1909 when the institute opened as a place to attend evening classes in technical subjects.

Student services
We firmly believe that if we give students the right support during their studies, they will have the best chance of reaching their full potential. The support available at our London campus is what makes the student experience so special. From academic concerns to personal challenges, our dedicated Student Support and Services team offers guidance and essential support throughout your university journey. They can offer a variety of support options to help students, such as on health and wellbeing, visa and immigration advice, counselling and more.
Housing services
Loughborough University London works with approved accommodation suppliers that suit a range of lifestyles and budgets, and the Student Accommodation Centre can assist you with your search for accommodation in London. The Student Advice and Support Service can offer advice and guidance on understanding your rights and responsibilities under a tenancy agreement and dealing with problems if they arise.
Students are required to book their accommodation directly with their chosen provider and the provider is then responsible for managing the tenancy agreement with the student.
Library services
Our library is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and offers access to over 9,000 print items, as well as over 30,000 ejournals and 400,000 ebooks on request.
Students can choose from over 609,000 print items from Loughborough's Pilkington Library which can be delivered to Loughborough University London for free.

To find a GP near to the campus, you can use the NHS Choices Service. The website shows all GPs in the area, alongside their addresses and phone numbers.
Campus life
Adjacent to the campus is Canalside, a vibrant social space offering a selection of exciting bars, retailers and restaurants. It’s the perfect spot for a bite to eat whilst watching the narrow boats along the canal. You will also find plenty of places to eat and drink on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Whether you’re looking for coffee, brunch or a three-course meal, you’ll find plenty on offer across the park.
Sports facilities
Located at the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Loughborough University London is surrounded by some of the world’s finest sporting venues, which are available to students at a discounted rate. The Copper Box Arena is a multi-purpose venue with an 80-station gym, two exercise class studios and venue, with seating for up to 7,500 spectators. The London Aquatics Centre has three separate pools for competition, training, and diving. Each is open to swimmers of all abilities, from beginners to Olympic hopefuls! Other venues include Lee Valley Velopark, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre and the London Stadium.

Loughborough Students’ Union is run by students, for students. It is here to support you throughout your student journey and works to represent you and support student-led activities to form a strong and supportive student community.
The Loughborough London Support and Social Network is a group formed each year by postgraduate taught students and doctoral researchers, responsible for creating a welcoming learning community.
We have a completely fresh group of students every year, which means whilst we don’t have ready-made societies and projects for you to join in with, the London SSN provides an exciting opportunity to lead social activities that you and your cohort are passionate about.
