The first enterprise for agricultural education during the Ottoman State started when Mekteb-i Zirai Şahane (imperial agricultural school) was founded in 1848 in Yeşilköy district. However, due to various reasons, the school was closed in its second year.

A decree in 1867 made it necessary to open an agricultural school and farm samples in the centre of each city. However, there was no action taken on that up until 1884. With a code of practice that came out in 1884, the process of opening agricultural schools started. In those years, Ziraat Müdür-i Umumiye was founded as part of the Trade Inspection.

Student services

The International Students Office and its staff assist and guide international students from freshman to alumni. Students become familiar with the student Office at the beginning of their university life at IZU. They are welcome to come and ask advice with issues they face on and off campus (visa, residence permit etc.)

Campus life

The campus is 5 Miles away from the Atatürk International Airport and only a mile away from shopping malls (Mall of Istanbul). Just outside the university’s main doors there is a few supermarkets, cafes, hairdressers and parks.

Is an Islamic environment and the campus are so beautiful but when we come to the education I did really like it, I’m currently studying I’m the third year international trade and finance, and I really hate my department, the teacher are teaching in really old fashion and theoretical why, there is no creativity or excitement in our department The classes are really boring...
