Overview

Research areas in psychology include wide-range topics such as central nervous system-behavior relations, development, social-cultural interaction, personality, psychopathology and applying knowledge derived from basic psychological research to various work settings.

Thus, the goal of the Psychology course at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University is providing its students with necessary knowledge about a wide-range scope of psychological research and basic theoretical approaches within psychology along with an advanced formation on methodology and research techniques.

Learning outcomes:

The student recognizes the basic conceptual information about the science of psychology; gains knowledge of relevant theoretical information and different approaches.

Evaluates the theorists, theories and prominent perspectives of psychology during its foundation period.

Gains knowledge of the historical development process of psychology.

Has basic knowledge of different theoretical approaches and perspectives (behavioral, biological, cognitive, evolutionary, humanistic, psychodynamic and sociocultural) related to the science of psychology.

Has information about the general history of psychology; recognizes other fields related to psychology and develops the knowledge of sufficient scientific background about its sub-fields.

University entrance exam results (if applicable), such as SAT, ACT, TCS, etc. A list of accepted exams and required scores is provided in Annex-2,

Proof of legal stay in Türkiye for applicants applying from within the country (for visa-exempt countries, the legal stay period must not have expired)

Entry-exit records for Turkish citizens who graduated from high schools abroad, proving that they were physically present in the country while receiving their education.
