History
DigiPen was founded in 1988 by Mr. Claude Comair as a computer simulation and animation company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. As the demand for production work increased, DigiPen faced difficulty finding qualified personnel, and in 1990, it began offering a dedicated training program in 3D computer animation to meet this growing need.

Student services
The counseling center is open during Fall and Spring semesters and closed during breaks. Appointments can be made Monday through Friday.
Students are welcome to drop-in, as long as their visits do not conflict with previously scheduled appointments.
Housing services
DigiPen Housing is a great option for students who are living away from home for the first time. We provide a safe and comfortable living environment for students, offer management services that allow students to focus on their studies, and employ qualified, well-trained staff who enjoy working with students.
DigiPen Housing offers apartment-style housing to a limited number of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as those enrolled in summer courses at DigiPen or Singaporean students participating in the Overseas Immersion Program. Assignments are based on application deadlines and availability of housing is not guaranteed for all applicants.
Library services
The DigiPen Library (also called the Learning Resource Center) aims to support the institute's curriculum, students, and faculty. Students have access to a variety of resources such as books, video games, e-books, DVDs, board games, sound effects, and reference books relevant to their programs of study.

HARD WORK IS A KEY TO SUCCESS
This course has become a journey for me. It has been one of my first classes at a university level. I have learned many valuable skills and lessons. I know they will be of great use to me in my further years at college, and in life. First, I learned that if I follow instructions and meet the criteria that is expected of me I can do very well. Secondly, I had the opportunity to learn how to develop a resume for college and work use. Having a resume that is up to standards and knowing what I need to modify, in the years to come, is extremely helpful when I am trying to obtain an occupation. Additionally, I also obtained the knowledge and skills on how to conduct research. Learning how to use the OSU library website to be able to find academic databases has been extremely helpful. I have learned how to access the databases and be able to search and obtain what I need. Even though, my other classes have not required me to conduct research, I may have to conduct research in the years to come. Knowing how to navigate the website and conduct my research will make it easier. I am very pleased with myself that I chose to do the extra credit that was offered. I knew that many professors did not offer the opportunity to gain extra credit.
