Aurora University traces its origin to the 1893 founding of a seminary in the small town of Mendota, Illinois.


Aurora University offers 40 undergraduate majors, numerous minors, a wide variety of master's degrees, several graduate certificates in education, nursing and business, and online doctoral degrees in education and social work.


The Office of Institutional Research provides data, information and analysis to the AU community to support university planning and decision making. We also provide the university’s annual responses to the Common Data Set, a collaborative effort of The College Board, Peterson's and U.S. News & World Report to publish standard information about colleges and universities.

Medical services

The AU Wellness Center provides college-specific nursing care and promotes health, wellness and preventive care for the Aurora University community. Care received in the Wellness Center is nurse-directed and based on physician-approved clinical protocols.

Aurora University is an excellent private institution with a small enough student base to receive personal attention and individual instruction from experienced professors.
