On September 14, 1927, the Houston Public School Board agreed to fund the development of two junior colleges: one for whites and one for African-Americans. And so, with a loan from the Houston Public School Board of $2,800, the Colored Junior College was born in the summer of 1927 under the supervision of the Houston School District.

Housing and Dining Rates provided are for an academic year contract (fall and spring semesters). The total amount due for the year is calculated by combining the rates of the Housing and Dining options selected by a student during the Housing application process. All rental rates do not include meal plan costs.

I was studying at Texas Southern University until my mother who was paying for my tuitions retired. After that it became hard for me to pay so I went back home and found a job. Now I'm ready to finish my bachelor's degree and even do a master's degree.
