Founded by Swedish Lutheran settlers in Chicago in 1860, Augustana has grown from a small school educating Swedish immigrants into a selective college of the liberal arts and sciences. The college honors its roots and its afﬁliation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. At the same time, Augustana’s rich liberal arts environment is enhanced by diversity.

The Office of Student Life and Leadership (OSL) hosts events and activities from different cultures, the arts, entertainment, educational programming and more.
First-year and sophomore students live in residence halls; juniors may choose transitional living areas (apartment-style housing on campus); seniors live on campus or in the neighborhood.
Located on the ground floor of Sorensen Hall, the Copy Center offers students, faculty and staff a variety of printing and copying services, from simple flyers to full-color bound books.
The 115-acre wooded campus is part of the Quad-Cities (population 400,000), and about 165 miles west of Chicago. Augustana is a residential campus.
The Pepsico Center houses intramural sports and student recreation. It has 40,000 square feet of gym floor and a six-lane, 200-meter track.
