History
The University of Reims was created in 1548, thanks to the Cardinal de Lorraine who made the papacy turn it into one of the main cathedral schools in Europe in the Middle Ages. It was closed down in 1793 during the French Revolution and disappeared almost completely for a century, until it came back in the sixties.
Education
Fulfilling students’ needs is a top priority and URCA developed the student citizenship through the evaluation of its formations and is equipped with a student-services desk uniquely devoted to providing new students with information, a help desk to help students get employment placement and a follow-up evaluation.
Research
Along with teaching, research is one of the two main missions allotted to universities. As such, each university makes it a point of honour to have its scientific potential well-structured as well as to define the objectives it has to achieve.

Best Global Universities Rankings by U.S. News & World Report presents all the top universities from the U.S. and 60 other countries around the world. They measure the rate of students going to their second year of studies, as well as the rate of students who graduate. It also asks university representatives on the performance of universities, and evaluates university resources, teacher salaries, graduation rates, student academic achievements and satisfaction. After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.

Housing services
If you would like to be accomodated in a student residence, you should submit a request to the CROUS three months prior to your arrival.
Library services
The University library gathers the University's libraries and documentation centers, on all sites which are integrated or associated with it.
Our collections of print and online resources support the teaching and research activities of the University. Our printed collections consist of around 450,000 books, with over 85,000 online journal titles, over 645,000 online books.
Medical services
However, if you are entitled to French Universal Health Cover, the Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie requires you to choose a médecin traitant (GP). His/her role is to coordinate the various consultations and tests required to monitor your health. You should first consult your “médecin traitant” who may then, if necessary, direct you to the relevant health specialist.
Campus life
Established in the cities of Reims, Troyes, Charleville-Mézières, Chalôns en Champagne and Chaumont, the URCA makes and effective contribution to the Champagne-Ardenne area's development by means of its network.
Sports facilities
The University Department of Physical and Sport Activities (SUAPS) offers you the opportunity to be part of more than 40 new or traditional physical activities, in- or outdoors, in free practice or supervised, from novice to confirmed sportsmen.
The subscription SUAPS "Pack Sport Campus" is automatic while your register at the University:
