Sichuan University is located in downtown Chengdu, a famous historic and cultural city known as “the land of abundance”. It consists of three campuses of Wangjiang, Huaxi and Jiangan, and covers an area of 7050 mu (470 hectares) with a floor area of 308 hectares. The University, with its favorable environment and beautiful scenery, is a wonderful place for learning and doing research.
Sichuan University has a comprehensive range of disciplines covering 12 categories, namely, humanities, science, engineering, medicine, economy, management, law, history, philosophy, agriculture and education. It consists of 31 colleges, including a postgraduate college and an overseas education college. Sichuan University has 44 disciplines authorized by the state to grant doctoral degrees. Altogether, the university offers 349 doctoral programs, 443 master programs, 32 professional master’s programs, 133 undergraduate programs, and 37 post-doctoral research stations. It also has 46 national key disciplines and 4 national key cultivated disciplines.
In recent years, in order to achieve the goal of constructing a first-class comprehensive research-oriented university, the school has formulated the modern concept of higher education that promotes individualism, scholarship and excellence. It has developed a new management mechanism, in which teachers conduct education activities, students serve as the center of education, and colleges and departments exercise management responsibilities.

Sichuan University enjoys a long tradition in education and boasts many renowned scholars. Over the past century, the University has attracted masters such as historian GuJiegang, philosopher FengYoulan, writer Li Jieren, esthetician Zhu Guangqian, physicist Wu Dayou, biologist Tong Dizhou, botanist Fang Wenpei, public health expert C. C. Chen, and mathematician Ke Zhao. The administrators of the University include some of the most important names in contemporary history of China, Wu Yuzhang and Zhang Lan, for example.

My experience at Sichuan University has been both academically enriching and personally transformative. What I appreciated most was the truly international learning environment, where diverse perspectives constantly challenged my thinking and pushed me beyond textbook knowledge. The curriculum in International Business Management balanced theory with real-world relevance, especially through case studies and group projects that mirrored cross-border business realities. Living and studying in China also strengthened my adaptability, cultural intelligence, and independence. That said, there is room for improvement, particularly in offering more practical industry exposure and closer collaboration with international companies. Overall, my study experience at Sichuan University was intellectually stimulating and deeply formative. It not only strengthened my academic foundation but also shaped my global mindset, preparing me to navigate complex international environments with confidence and curiosity.
Overall good university, however most of its good reputation comes from de Design faculty, and not applicable for the Business faculty. My department is relatively small, which is good since teacher will give you a more in depth attention
I am an international student at Sichuan university. Studying overseas had a profound impact on me. My viewpoint was expanded and my education was enhanced by navigating a new culture, getting to know people from different backgrounds, and immersing myself in a new academic environment. I like the experience of trying different kinds of cuisines although it is a challenge to adjust to new foods.
