History
The University of Chichester can trace its origins back to 1839. In the early part of the 19th century, there was considerable debate about the role of church and state in university education.
In 1828 students were accepted for the first secular university institution in the country, which later became University College London.Education
Our mission is to be a university community that inspires and enables individuals to exceed their expectations.
Research
We have a diverse portfolio of approaches and practices to research. Our strategy recognises that success depends on the empowerment, support and contribution of staff and students within the supportive community that they create.
The University achieved the European Commission HR Excellence in Research Award in November 2013. Since then, we have been working hard to enhance and improve the support, guidance and infrastructure to facilitate the continuing development of our researchers.
Career
96.5% of our graduates were in employment or further study within six months of graduation (Destination of Leavers from Higher Education 2018).
We’re a friendly and professional team, dedicated to helping students and graduates to plan their futures, to learn about the world of work and meet employers.
