Our largest research center – Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) – is home to more than 400 scientists working on basic and clinical research projects and 300 active clinical trials. Georgetown is very connected to the international and domestic political sphere. However, I couldn't find great social connections - I found I came from a much less elite background than my peers.
Georgetown is a place that encourages personal discernment and exploration. I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to be after college, or even the specific academic path I wanted to take. The staff and faculty at Georgetown are all excellent at encouraging students to look inward and try to match our own unique skills with the needs and realities of the world.
Washington DC is a great place to study and live in a multicultural city. The city has many free museums and parks to visit, and the White House as well. Also, if you are studying then you will be able to find people from anywhere in the world.
