About

History

The University of Western Sydney (UWS) began operation on 1st January 1989, under the terms of the University of Western Sydney Act, 1988 which had been passed by the New South Wales Parliament in December 1988. However, the predecessors of the University date back as far as 1891 with the establishment of the Hawkesbury Agricultural College.

Medical services

Uniclinic offers a range of therapeutic health practices at reduced rates to the general public. Treatments are provided by students who are under the supervision of qualified clinicians. You do not need a referral to attend the Uniclinic.

Student Life

Campus life

  • One of the best things about life at WSU is that there's always something happening! From live music, outdoor activities, sports and PlayStation competitions, to one of many social events organised by your Campus Life team (CLT) or Student Clubs, you're bound to find something that interests you.
  • Campus Life also helps to maintain facilities and equipment that are available to students including table tennis tables, pool tables, board games and sporting equipment in student lounge areas. Just ask your Campus Life Officer about using these.

Sports facilities

At Western Sydney University we understand  the important role that sport plays in our region.  Our commitment to sport is showcased by 1500 current students studying sports related courses, several key relationships with Western Sydney teams, industry expertise, Elite Athlete support and a reputation for sportsmanship at the Unisport Nationals Events.

Student clubs

  • With over 100 Student Clubs to choose from, you have the opportunity to lead a vibrant social life on and off campus.
  • Each Student Club broadly fits into its own interest group, including Social Life, Cultural, Religious, Sporting, Political, and Course Related.
  • Your Campus will have its own set of Student Clubs, but you can travel to any Campus and enjoy the Club activities on offer.

Our university is the one of the largest university in asia and i learnt a lot about my field there. I learnt theoretical as well as practical there. I studied detailed courses of Integrated Farming System,Sustainable agriculture and many other agricultural courses

Many diseases can be prevented by obeying health rules.

During my time of working as a water resources engineer I received a training in PHAST METHODOLOGIES.Three problems in health were identified as hand washing, proper way for using latrines and drinking clean water supply or boiled water. Many diseases are associated with luck of these and I would like to know more. Thanks
