The programme
- The International: Introduction to Design and Media Communication (NQF Level 3) course at the University of the Arts London (UAL) supports applications to a range of undergraduate courses including; Graphic and Media Design, Games Design, Advertising, Journalism, Design for Branded Spaces, Illustration and Visual Media, Animation, Film Practice, and Photography.
- This exciting and comprehensive course is based at London College of Communication in Elephant and Castle, a vibrant and multicultural area with links to a worldwide network of creative industries.
Programme Structure
Course include:
- Workshop and studio-based learning allows students to explore a range of 2D, 3D and digital media. The course encourages a multidisciplinary approach, and provides each student with the opportunity to experiment, and discover their preferred media and pathway.
- Visiting professional practitioners and study trips to galleries and museums enrich the understanding of this dynamic multicultural capital and its creative industries.
- Successful completion of the course provides students with the opportunity to progress to an undergraduate course at LCC. A very small number of students, in exceptional circumstances, may progress to our Certificate in Higher Education: Preparation for Design, Media and Screen, where it is in the interests of the student to develop their skills further before undertaking a degree.

- Successful completion of post secondary education including certificate achievement to at least Level 2 (GCSE equivalent), together (for Design pathway) a portfolio of work demonstrating interest and commitment to this area of study or (for Media Communication pathway) evidence of in writing and research activities showing interest and engagement with the area of study.
- In your portfolio, you should include any examples of relevant work that you think shows us your interest in and commitment to the relevant pathway area of study.
