Key features
The Computer Science and Health Information Science program of University of Victoria, British Columbia is designed for students seeking a more technical career path. There is less emphasis on the administrative side of health informatics and an increased importance is placed on technical aspects.
The School of Health Information Science and the Department of Computer Science have designed a program leading to a combined BSc Major Degree. Students intending to pursue this combined program must consult the Undergraduate Adviser in either Human and Social Development or Computer Science at the latest after completing all of the first-year requirements.

General requirements
Students must apply for the combined program through the School of Health Information Science office. This is a mandatory Co-op program.
- Students with a previous degree in Computer Science or a related degree are not eligible for this combined program (see Second Bachelor's Degree). Students who have failed a work term or do not maintain a GPA of 4.0 or better in each academic term will normally be required to withdraw from the School for at least one calendar year. This is a full-time program only.
