Overview

This BSc Business Management and French (Hons) at the University of Surrey will develop your language skills and your understanding of core business principles, giving you the linguistic competence and business confidence to excel in the professional and academic world.

What you will study

Studying Business Management and Modern Languages at Surrey will introduce you to core business principles and practice and give you the opportunity to continuously improve and practise your skills in either French or Spanish in a variety of settings. If you don’t have an A-level or equivalent in Spanish or French, you’ll be able to learn the languages as a beginner, as long as you can demonstrate language learning aptitude.   

Your first year of study will provide you with a strong base of knowledge in the essentials of business management and will introduce you to using Spanish or French in a variety of academic and professional contexts. From the second year, you will be given the opportunity to select from a widening range of optional modules, including marketing, human resources, sociolinguistics and translation.  

The course includes a Professional Training placement abroad, or the possibility of studying abroad with one of our partner universities. You will gain real insight into business practice in the relevant country, plus the opportunity to use and develop your language skills in a professional setting.
