Description
The scholarship is open to self-funded international fee-paying students regardless of nationality or domicile. The scheme is application based and awards are decided by a scholarship awards panel. The panel will assess previous academic performance, predicted grades and the personal statement to make their decision.
Benefits
The scholarship is awarded as a £5,000 fee waiver.
Eligibility
To be eligible applicants must:
- Be an overseas fee-paying student
- Choose Surrey as your firm choice on your UCAS application (students applying to us via Clearing can also apply for this award)
- Hold an offer to study a full-time bachelors degree programme* at FHEQ Level 4 (first-year entry)
- Be self-funded (you must be paying for your studies independently rather than being sponsored or in receipt of another scholarship)
- Apply for this scholarship before a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is issued. The award cannot be applied post CAS.
*Excludes part-time and distance-learning courses.
Please note:
- This award is available for the first year of an undergraduate degree only
- This award is not open to students from Surrey International Study Centre (SISC)
- Applicants in receipt of this scholarship will not be eligible for any other Surrey scholarship
- This award is not deferrable to the following year (if you defer, you will need to reapply for the award. This will also be subject to the award availability).

You must have:
Made your course application through UCAS by 30 June
Surrey as your firm choice on your UCAS application to be considered for the award
An offer from the University to complete the scholarship application form. Applications without a valid student ID/UCAS ID and offer will not be assessed.
Our scholarship awards are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please apply early.
