The Sports Coaching and Performance (Hons) programme offered by University of East London combines practical, theoretical and work-based learning and has been uniquely designed to embed industry experts throughout the course.

The comprehensive range of sports coaching courses is designed to meet the diverse needs of aspiring coaches at every level.

You will:

Benefit from a unique partnership between the University of East London and the West Ham United Foundation. West Ham United Foundation deliver half of the modules, with regular guest lecturers from their Academy.

Complete your sports coaching degree at UEL’s SportsDock with exclusive additional opportunities at West Ham United Foundation and West Ham United’s Academy.

Learn the principles underpinning high-quality sports coaching and explore how to create an environment for high-performance athletes to thrive.

Careers

Alongside the academic programme, you will do various work placements to help you put your learning into practice. These opportunities mean you can learn from leaders in sport. They will provide excellent networking opportunities for future paid work in sports coaching.

You can work in the summer months, either on West Ham United Foundation's local programmes in East London and Essex or on some of our international programmes. In previous years, our students have travelled fully funded to Austria, Sweden, and Spain, working on a range of projects to enhance their employability skills.
