Description

A non-repayable cash award for students who have previously lived in care, a foyer, are estranged from their biological parents (usually for a period of 12 months or more), young adult carers or young refugees. 

Benefits

The scholarship is worth £1,000.

Please note students who choose to live in University-owned accommodation will receive an additional award of £500 paid directly to their rent account.

Eligibility

  • New and continuing home undergraduate students who have previously lived in care, a foyer, who are estranged from their parents, young adult carers or young refugees. 

You must be:

  • fee-assessed as a home student;
  • studying full-time and paying fees of £9,250 per year;
  • aged under 25 at the start of your course;
  • in receipt of a Student Finance Maintenance loan.
