Overview
This Food Science and Nutrition course at Charles Sturt University will develop your ability to analyse nutrition, food product development, consumption trends, factors influencing attitudes to food and health, food supply, food policy and ecological issues associated with food. Delve into the social, cultural, technical, environmental, economic and political factors influencing food habits, diet and lifestyle. When applying, you’ll choose a dedicated stream of study from exercise science, community nutrition, transition to dietetics or food innovation and marketing.
You'll develop your knowledge, understanding and skills in appropriate aspects of food and nutrition and its scientific basis to enable you to work in multidisciplinary teams in a range of health and industry settings. To ensure you’re experienced in using the equipment and techniques found in the workplace, our facilities include food science laboratories, a commercial food preparation laboratory.
