Overview
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:
- Collect, interpret and appropriately apply information from construction projects including graphics, reports, performance and productivity analyses and other documents.
- Contribute to the collecting, processing and interpreting information related to construction projects.
- Work according to contractual obligations; project specifications and drawings; and applicable law, standards, bylaws and codes.
- Work in compliance with the theories and accepted principles and practices of the commercial construction industry.
- Contribute to the evaluation of equipment use, materials and the methods employed to implement and complete construction projects.
- Recognize the inter-dependencies of disciplines including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, and others relating to the commercial construction projects.
Careers
The knowledge and skills acquired in this programme position graduates for increasing levels of responsibilities in the completion of small to medium scale construction projects. Graduates of the Construction Management course at Algonquin College may find employment in a variety of construction management positions. These positions include but are not restricted to project manager, site superintendent, construction manager, and project coordinator taking into account graduates' previous work experience in the field and organizations' requirements.
