Marketing majors often choose to complete their work terms at marketing or PR agencies or work in-house in the marketing departments of local or national companies or non-profits. Some students choose to complete all their work terms at the same company, while others prefer to change it up each time. The potential work term opportunities are endless! The following Marketing programme options are offered by Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Management. Connect with an academic advisor after you start your studies to explore options such as:
- Bachelor of Commerce with Major (Co-op)
- Certificates including Financial Accounting, FinTech and Financial Innovation, Leadership, Management Accounting and Quantitative Finance.
What you will learn
With a major in Marketing, you’ll be able to develop strategic marketing plans that include careful competitive and market analysis, selection, and market development. The classes offer experiential learning opportunities, and by the time you graduate, you’ll have gained a full year of real-world experience during your work terms.
Learn about the factors that influence consumer behaviour and how to collect and use information about the marketplace, while developing skills that will help you solve marketing problems. This major provides an opportunity for you to be both creative and analytical.
