Overview

In the first two years spent at King's College London you’ll cover core subject areas, with the ability to choose from a range of modules across both departments from first through to the fourth year (where there are extensive options). You can choose to specialise in specific areas of mathematics, management and finance or explore a broad range of subjects that interest you.

You will spend your third year gaining valuable work experience with a year-long placement at a UK company before returning to complete your final year with us. Finding an industry placement will require you to be resourceful and engaged. The Faculty has dedicated placement support providing advice and host employer-led events, ensuring you have all the tools to secure the right placement for you.

A degree in mathematics is one of the most flexible qualifications you can obtain, and as a result our graduates are among the best paid and the least likely to be unemployed. 

Many mathematics graduates become statisticians, actuaries, scientists, accountants, and so on. More and more often they are also going into careers in life sciences or the City, and the management and finance aspects of this course will put you in the ideal position to follow a career in finance. There is also considerable demand for graduates of mathematics  in the teaching profession.
