Overview
Through this Creative Music Technology programme from University of Portsmouth , you'll develop your creative practice alongside your digital literacy, and get to grips with the industry-standard software and processes you’ll use in a musical career. You'll hone your skills in enhancing your musical talent with advanced studio equipment, such as our Solid State Logic editing pods, Dolby Atmos Surround Sound Studio, and our CCIXR extended reality suite, preparing yourself for modern composition and production practice.
You'll be able to take industry certification in Protools and WWise, as we have certified school status, and you'll have access to the only Buchla System 7 synthesiser in a European university. By studying with academics who are practising professionals, working in both the technical and instrumental sides of the industry, you'll build your network of contacts alongside the skills to impress them through your career.
Careers and opportunities
You'll be entering a field that's constantly creating new outlets for new music - from television and art installations to digital media and interactive applications. When you graduate with experience of the practices, technologies and outlets for your music, you'll be able to show your readiness for careers across the creative media sector.
