Overview

Within this English and French (Hons) BA programme from the Queen's University Belfast you'll explore language structure and function; the day-to-day use of the languages, including in the media; and the major influences that have shaped both linguistic traditions.

From the earliest writings in Anglo-Saxon to contemporary Irish, British, French and postcolonial literatures, students study English and French texts in their historical, cultural and ideological circumstances and material manifestations.

Note: for applicants who have not studied A-level French then AS-level French grade B would be acceptable in lieu of A-level French. For applicants who have not studied A-level English then AS-level English (grade A) would be acceptable in lieu of A-level English.

ABB including A-level English + GCSE French grade B or evidence of linguistic ability in another language.
