About the program
The broad, interdisciplinary programme includes the subjects of sociology, political science, communication science and law. The Social Sciences for Intercultural Relations program offered at Fulda University of Applied Sciences can be completed in German and/or English and is supplemented by lessons in foreign languages
Students on the Social Sciences degree programme can spend a semester abroad. Various funding opportunities are available for this, such as scholarships and professional help from the department's international relations office. Students travel to a wide variety of countries and continents.
Career paths
Graduates of the BASIB degree programme have a wide range of job opportunities in intercultural professional fields. Students acquire interdisciplinary and intercultural skills through the programme. These enable them to work in national and international organisations, public authorities, companies and non-profit organisations.
International relations, development co-operation, support for migrants, intercultural training and personnel management can be topics. Youth work, adult education and media are also possible fields of work. Graduates work for various organisations:
- a municipal office for diversity and participation,
- a ministry,
- an NGO (non-governmental organisation) on the topic of human rights,
- he Federal Office for Migration and Refugees,
- in trade union education work,
- in company personnel management.
