History
Founded in 1974, Fulda University is one of the oldest Universities of Applied Sciences. Having started with only three faculties we now count eight academic departments offering a wide range of programmes.
Education
The university currently comprises eight departments with 60 study programmes. The number of international programmes is growing continually. They include Bachelor´s programmes in Global Health, Science and Engineering, Food Technology and International Business and Management, and Master´s programmes like International Management, Global Software Development, Data Science, Human Rights Studies in Politics, Law and Society and International Food Business and Consumer Studies. Fulda University also offers preparatory and short-term programmes, summer and winter universities as well as semester and academic year exchanges. Soft skill trainings and a Careers Service complement the learning opportunities.
Research
Fulda University is one of the most research-oriented universities of applied sciences in Germany. Research is carried out in three main areas: "health care, nutrition, food", "interculturality and social sustainability" and "computer science and systems technology". This research orientation is reflected by the fact that Fulda became the first German university of applied sciences to receive the right to independently confer doctoral degrees.
Besides its interdisciplinary focus, Fulda University attaches great importance to a practical and application-based orientation. Research projects are therefore developed and carried out in close cooperation with partners from industry and business.Career
Fulda University's study programmes have a strong practical orientation. This and long-standing links to business and industry promise graduates excellent career prospects on the German and global labour markets. The nearby Rhine-Main region and city of Frankfurt/Main offer excellent job opportunities and have one of the strongest employment records in Germany.
The University's Careers Service helps international students and alumni develop successful job search strategies and achieve their career goals.
The Careers Service provides:
career guidance
workshops and skills training
coaching and networking opportunities
help finding internships
contacts to internal and external partners
