Overview
Throughout the Healthcare Science - Vascular Science (Hons) from University of Gloucestershire you’ll have opportunities to gain the knowledge, skills, and clinical experiences that will nurture a rewarding career in vascular healthcare services. More importantly, once qualified, you’ll have the opportunity to work within an expanding field that positively impacts patients’ lives.
Healthcare scientists are involved in 80% of all clinical decisions in the NHS. The diagnostic tests that you perform, analyse and interpret will ensure patients have the correct diagnosis to ensure treatment pathways are accurate and lead to improvements in their quality of life.
Working within the demanding field of vascular science, healthcare scientists support the diagnosis, monitoring, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of diseases of the blood vessels.
Vascular science practitioners specifically work in a fast-paced, challenging and stimulating environment which combines the use of both traditional and innovative technologies in order to provide excellent patient care and clinical support. Enjoying interaction with people and having excellent communication skills are a vital part of the role.
Career opportunities:
The University aims to support the development of a sustainable local workforce to meet the staffing needs of the county’s health employers and beyond.
In addition, the Healthcare Science degree is closely linked with the workforce planning requirements for NHS Gloucestershire. As a result, we have close working relationships with local health, social care, charities and education providers, NHS and private, across the South West Region.
