Overview

The curriculum has been designed to adapt with current scenario and provide balance between the principles and food technology applications for teaching and learning. The Food Technology with Honours programme at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia combines various and wide fundamental concepts including chemistry, physics, general biology and microbiology. Apart from that, this programme gives knowledge and understanding in improving and maintaining food quality, which covers the post-harvesting, processing, engineering, preservation, nutrition, sensory, safety, legislation, halal, packaging, waste management, product development and marketing that can be applied in the future careers with ethical manner in providing consumers with high quality, safe and nutritious food through technology and innovation.

The Bachelor of Science (Food Technology) with Honours programme prepares graduates to be:

At least three (3) principal passes in the General Certificate of Education ‘Advancedlevel’ (GCE) ‘A’ Level Examination (UK Educational System) obtained in one sitting.
International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of six (6) subjects obtained in onesitting.
A Diploma or any other Equivalent Qualification recognized by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the Senate of the University.
Any other qualifications that are recognized by the Senate of the University as equivalent .
