Overview
Practical face-to-face courses are held on campus during July of summer semester I and July of summer semester II. Asynchronous online courses are delivered/completed in August of summer semester I, August of summer semester II, and during the fall and winter semesters. A minimum of 400 hours of practice teaching are completed between September and May. Courses in the Technological Studies programme at University of Windsor are designed to be meaningful to candidates regardless of their broad-based discipline. Assignments, however, are discipline-specific.
Transitional Certificate of Qualification and Registration:
Successful completion of Summer I and a practicum of a minimum of ten days will qualify candidates to apply to the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) for a Transitional Certificate of Qualification and Registration. Upon successful completion of the entire program, candidates are qualified to apply to the OCT for a Certificate of Qualification and Registration.
In partnership with the Windsor-Essex Catholic School Board and the Greater Essex County District School Board, our Diploma in Technological Studies/B.Ed. program equips you to teach grades 9-12 across a variety of technological fields in Ontario. These fields include communications technology, computer technology, healthcare, green industries, technological design, and more.
