Automotive Service Technology from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology can also serve as a pathway to apprenticeship.

This two-year diploma provides exposure to new trends and technologies. Once you complete the program, you will have the knowledge, skills and hands-on experience in dynamic shop environments to diagnose vehicle systems, and repair and maintain vehicles.

The diploma program offers a direct pathway into trades training at NAIT without having to first be a registered apprentice.

Careers

Prepare to enter a diverse field of employment once you complete this diploma, with positions at dealerships, national auto chains, independent shops and more. As a graduate, you will be prepared for rewarding careers such as automotive service technician, service advisor, shop foreman or service manager.

Specialization within the automotive service industry may also lead to entrepreneurial or self-employment opportunities as an autobody shop owner.

Graduates will also be eligible to register for apprenticeship and may have associated employment opportunities.
