Overview
The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees curriculum is offered at Conestoga College . Using a combination of theoretical and practical learning opportunities, students will be introduced to the health sciences field, college life and workload, and will be able to increase their competitiveness to support their application to the health sciences programmes listed above. In addition to the advanced diploma and degree programmes, students successfully completing this advanced pre-health pathway are also eligible to apply to health sciences one-year certificate or two-year diploma programmes (see Pre-Health Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas description for a full list).
Note:
- Note for domestic students: Upon successful completion of the Pre-Health Sciences programme, students may apply to Conestoga College's School of Health Sciences advanced diploma or degree programmes (Respiratory Therapy, Paramedic, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Applied Health Information Science degree, etc.), as well as to the health sciences diploma programmes.
- Note for international students: the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees is a pathway for international students interested in studying in either the Bachelor of Applied Biotechnology degree or the Bachelor of Environmental Public Health degree ONLY. Students interested in studying in a health science-related two-year diploma programme should apply to the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas.
Careers
- A five-mark (5) bonus will be granted to any applicant who has successfully completed Conestoga's Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees programme and who is applying to any of the following Conestoga diploma programmes: Biotechnology Technician, Fitness and Health Promotion, Hearing Instrument Specialist, Practical Nursing, Nutrition and Food Service Management, Paramedic, Personal Support Worker, Occupational Therapist Assistant/Physiotherapist Assistant, and Respiratory Therapy.
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) updated the list of eligible fields of study for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). For Conestoga's latest list of PGWP-aligned programmes, please visit the college website.
