Film and Music Production at Keele aims to give you a portfolio of skills so you can achieve your career ambitions in the music industry or in creative industries like TV, radio, film and games. Taught by experienced staff with a range of specialisms, you will develop knowledge in sound recording, film aesthetics, audio design, digital sampling and programming. You will also have the opportunities to explore mixing, mastering, producing sound, scriptwriting, digital filmmaking and documentary.


Film and Music Production (Hons) course at Keele University will give you the skills and knowledge for a career in the creative industries. Your future could include working in music production, sound design for games and foley, screen music or music programming.

Through workshops, tutorials and innovative assessments, you will develop technical skills, creative practice, artistic imagination and production, and academic knowledge by working creatively with audio software, hardware, and digital audio in studio and production set ups.

Gain practical skills and music industry experience through our placement modules. Many of our students have completed placements in different areas within the creative industries. Our placement partners include the education and skills support service business ENTRUST, the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle under Lyme, the music charity Make Some Noise, the independent local radio station Signal Radio, and others.
