Overview
From the outset, you’ll build a strong foundation in chemical and environmental engineering, gaining an understanding of what it means to be a professional engineer. You'll also explore process and plant design, applying theoretical principles to real-world systems. You’ll work in modern, well-equipped laboratories and design studios, focusing on practical, group-based learning. You’ll gain a thorough understanding of chemical engineering principles, alongside transferable skills like project management, analytical thinking, leadership, and teamwork.
In your fourth year, your industrial placement will enhance your skills and give you direct experience of the challenges and innovations in the field. Support will be provided throughout the process, from preparing applications and interviews to settling into your placement. Academic staff will remain closely involved through regular visits and ongoing contact, making sure your professional experience complements your academic development.
