Description
All students who meet the eligibility criteria receive the bursary. The funding is paid directly into the recipient’s bank account in three instalments during the academic year and does not need to be repaid.
Benefits
£2,000 per academic year (£1,000 per academic year, if in receipt of the Nottingham Potential Bursary).
Eligibility
To receive the Care Leaver and Estranged Bursary as a student, you must:
- be joining the university for the first time.
- be under the age of 25 at the start of your course.
- be registered on a full-time undergraduate degree course (or PGCE/Graduate Entry Nursing/Graduate Entry Medicine) at Nottingham (For PGCE, GEN and GEM courses, you will be awarded the bursary even if you have already studied an undergraduate degree at UoN if you meet all the eligibility criteria).
- have a household income between £0-£35,000 and had a full financial assessment carried out by Student Finance
- have UK home status for funding purposes.
- be liable for the tuition fee set.
- have been granted independent status by Student Finance due to your Care Leaver status or due to estrangement.
