Overview

The modular nature of this Geology with a Year Abroad MSci programme from Imperial enables you to gain a solid understanding of geosciences while tailoring your study programme to suit your interests. As the course progresses, you will be able to choose modules from specialist areas such as: palaeobiology, oceanography, igneous and metamorphic processes, and geomorphology.

Quick Facts:

• You also have the chance to complete an integrated year abroad at one of our partner universities where you can challenge yourself in a different academic and cultural environment. You will then return to Imperial to complete your studies during your fourth and final year.
• Your study reaches Master's level in the fourth year with a choice of advanced modules, a specialist field trip and a substantial research project. This means that you will require fewer years of work experience than graduates of our BSc degrees to apply for Chartership of the Geological Society.
• Earth Science is increasingly crucial in helping to tackle some of the world’s most significant challenges, so demand for our graduates is high.
• The three-year BSc degree is excellent preparation for careers in geosciences and other professions, especially if followed by a relevant MSc and a research degree. Our four-year MSci degrees provide a deeper understanding of the subject and the chance to undertake a significant research project.
