
Overview
The degree is developed in close consultation with the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC). The Broadcast and Multimedia Journalism (Hons) programme at the University of East Anglia teaches core general skills such as writing, video editing, audio skills, camera skills, interviewing, news package production, court reporting, longer form programme making and website production. You will develop an understanding of media law and ethics, including defamation, copyright, legal constraints and media regulation. You will complete 15 days of industry placement as an essential part of your course. You will also participate in at least 15 days of newsroom production in years 2 and 3, closely mirroring practice within professional broadcast newsrooms. The BJTC is supported by major industry players such as Reuters, ITN, BBC, Channel 4, Associated Press, ITV and Sky News.

- The University is developing a new broadcast centre in the heart of Norwich. This will be equipped with TV and Radio studios, and an ‘electronic newsroom’, closely modelled on modern professional practice. It is based in the former studios of Radio Broadland and Heart Radio. Much of the teaching, and all the practical activities for this course, will be based there, putting your journalistic development at the centre of this attractive and newsworthy city.
