Overview

The Business Management and International Relations (Hons) programme at the Oxford Brookes University combines study of the fundamentals of both subjects with the opportunity to focus on individual areas of interest through specialist option modules. Students will also develop their employability and personal self-awareness throughout the course.

Graduates of this course will have a broad and interdisciplinary education, equipping them for a wide range of careers, combining knowledge of the practices of business and management, with an understanding of the different perspectives on International Relations and their application.

Career Prospects:

This course will enable you to secure positions in a range of settings, such as a multinational business, the public sector, including national and local government, trade unions, and NGOs. Students go on to graduate training schemes in international companies such as Aldi, AC Nielsen, IBM, Virgin Mobile, Intel, Yell Ltd, O2 and Dell. General requirements

Acceptable passes in five subjects (exceptionally four subjects) at GCSE or GCE including:

one 12-unit vocational A-level, or
two A-levels or two 6-unit vocational A-levels, or
one A-level or 6-unit vocational A-level plus two AS-levels, or
two 3-unit vocational A-levels *(* where these are included they need to be in subjects other than those held at A-level).

A National Certificate or Diploma at a good standard.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma (minimum of 24 points) or the European Baccalaureate Diploma (minimum of 60%).
Five subjects in SCE with two at Higher level or one at Advanced Higher level.
Three subjects in Scottish Highers or two at Advanced Higher level.
Any other qualifications considered by the Academic Board to be of equivalent standard.
